We are three sisters who had the dream of starting a resturant as kids. We thought of the name when were young being all sisters and no brothers, hence SisNoBro. We are happy to put it to use in our new recipe/craft/idea blog. So come enjoy the food while we discuss "Mommy stuff and ideas"! Flatter us and leave a comment. Feel free to share our link!

Yummy Dill bread
I am very excited that my daughters have started the Sisnobro cafe...it has been talked about them since they were in grade school when it was originally planned! so it has been a long time coming! Maybe not an actual resteraunt as that was the original plan...but maybe even better this way.
Anyway as their mom I decided to also publish a recipe that I made today!
It is Dilly Casserole Bread from the Lion House Bakery Cookbook. The recipe is as follows:
1 package (21/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast (i actually used 1 TBL)
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 cup cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
2 TBLs granulated sugar
2 TBLs finely chopped onion or 1 TBL dried minced onion
1 TBL butter or margarine, softened. plus additional butter for brushing hot bread
1 TBL dill weed
1 teas. salt
1/4 teas baking soda
1 egg
2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Soften yeast in water in a small bowl and set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, sugar, onion, 1 TBL butter, dill weed, salt, baking soda, egg, and softened yeast. Add flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Cover and let rise in a warm place, until light and doubled in size, about 50 to 60 minutes. Punch dough down. Turn into a well-greased, 1 1/2 to2 quart round casserole. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 to 40 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes, or until golden brown. brush with soft buter and sprinkle with salt.
It is very delicious and I got the dill from my garden! Hope you enjoy!

Diet Advice by a PRO
My Sister-in-Law started a blog. She is totally fit and yes, has a rocking bod after 3 kids. Her diet plan just makes sense to me. She is VERY good at what she does. I pulled this off of her blog. Hope you enjoy!
I'm not currently working in my field, but I never mind giving nutritional advice when asked. For me, it has always been pointless to offer advice on the subject of nutrition because unless someone is truly motivated and ready to listen (and believe me), there is no use even discussing weight loss. This may sound kind of harsh, but I can always predict the outcome. I can tell who will reach their goal and who will not, most often during the first meeting. Unfortunately, many will not. But I have worked with several clients and friends who have been humble and serious enough to reach their nutritional goals. This makes me soooooo happy for them. After all, they are the one who worked so incredibly hard to gain control of their own health. Honestly, I can't take responsibility either way.
Here are a few nutritional tips that I tell anyone who asks me how to lose those extra pounds. I guarantee you will lose weight if you follow these simple tips. I say simple, not because they are easy, but because the ideas are basic:
Do not eat after 7:00 pm, or about three hours before bed. Of course this does not apply to pregnant or nursing mothers. It is such a wonderful feeling to be hungry for breakfast.
Cut out the soda! Drink at least 6- 80z. glasses of water each day.
Reducing calories is key. There is no scientific evidence that proves otherwise.
My favorite professor in college had her Doctorate in Nutrition and ANOTHER Doctorate in Exercise Physiology. I tell you this because she loved both exercise and nutrition. Her famous saying was, "It's 80% nutrition and 20% exercise!" This is how important nutrition is to weight loss.
Do not buy any treats or snack foods at the grocery store. If it is in your home, you will eat it.
Give yourself 1-2 free days each week. This is the day you can go out to dinner without counting servings, you can eat that ice cream you've been craving all week, and you can treat yourself! Reward yourself for doing well all week.
In order to lose weight, your body needs to feed off of its existing sources. This means that it is KEY to feel a sense of hunger. I'm not talking about light-headedness or feeling like you are going to faint, but just a little hunger pain that is telling your body, "hmmmm, I want to eat something." If you never feel hungry, you will never lose weight.
Never eat less than 1200 calories/day. This is called starvation mode and will only confuse your body.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love to eat!!! I am not your typical health nut. I believe in moderation and I do treat myself and never starve myself. I do not pay large amounts for fad health food. I refuse to pay an arm and a leg for organic foods. I don't take a ton of supplements, although a good multivitamin is definitely important. People who don't know me well always seem surprised when I'm the one who brings the fatty food to the party!!! :)
Nutrition is a science. The science cannot be disputed, but there are different ways to go about losing weight. For example: you can count calories, fat grams, serving sizes, eat three meals a day with one snack, each every two hours throughout the day, etc etc etc! I have many tricks up my sleeve including the above mentioned to help people lose weight (if they want to). I am happy to help anyone if they are ready and willing to reach their goal.

THe fallow post is an artical that I found which I thought would be helpful for Mommys. I did not write it but liked what it had to offer.
Guilt-free convenience foods for kids
In the perfect world we'd all have time to cook every meal from scratch... and our kids would love everything we prepare.
Reality check! We lead chaotic lives and often don't have time to cook. And of course, a lot of our kids also tend to be picky eaters.
The following items are guilt-free convenient foods because they're easy and healthy. Best part of all, they've been tested by thousands of families and kids of all ages (personally at my nutrition center) and have been widely accepted.
BREAKFAST OPTIONS
Amy’s Breakfast Burrito
• Made from organic beans, tofu, whole wheat flour, brown rice, and veggies. No high fructose corn syrup or other nonsense.
• Portion controlled at 250 calories per burrito – plus 5 grams of fiber, 9 grams protein
• Wrap in a paper towel and pop in microwave for 3 minutes – done!
Kashi Go Lean frozen waffles, plain or blueberry
• For starchy breakfast waffles, this brand provides an impressive amount of protein and fiber.
• 2 Toasted Waffles = 170 calories, 8 grams protein, and 6 grams fiber! Plus, there’s no saturated or trans fat… and very little sugar.
Have your kids top with:
1. Non-fat vanilla yogurt and berries
2. Thin spread of peanut butter
3. Scrambled eggs
4. Or, 2 tablespoons reduced sugar syrup
Morningstar Farms soy breakfast sausage
• Made with soy and egg whites, these sausage links are significantly lower in calories and fat than the traditional beef and pork varieties.
• 2 links = 80 calories and 9 grams of protein with zero saturated fat.
Breakfast Cereals: MultiGrain Cheerios, Barbara’s Original Puffins, Kashi Heart to Heart
*Joy’s rule of thumb for kid’s breakfast cereals:
PER SERVING:
• No more than 6 grams of sugar
• At least 3+ grams of fiber
• If weight is an issue, aim for 120 calories or less per ¾ cup serving.
LUNCH OPTIONS:
Lean Pockets - Chicken Parmigan
• Although there’s no whole grain in this product, it’s a tasty, low-calorie, low-fat version of chicken parm - thanks to reduced cheese and un-fried chicken.
• One item provides 280 calories, 7 grams of fat and is a good source of calcium (150 milligrams) and protein (12 grams).
Belle and Evans Chicken Nuggets and Tenders
• Made with chicken that’s antibiotic free… and contains no fillers, preservatives, artificial flavorings or hydrogenated oil.
• 4 ounce serving provides 190 calories, 6 grams fat, 1 gram saturated fat and 0 trans fat.
Healthy Soups:
Healthy Choice Garden Vegetable soup
• One cup provides 120 calories, 5 grams fiber and 5 grams protein
Amy’s Lentil Soup
• 1 cup provides 150 calories, 8 grams protein and 9 grams of fiber!
DINNER OPTIONS
Lean Cuisine Brick Oven style pizza
• Your kids have a variety to choose from and get a decent sized 'individual' pizza. The crust is thin and crispy and there is also a lot of cheese (low-fat cheese which delivers 250 milligrams of calcium -- 3/4s the amount in a glass of milk).
• One pizza has 280 calories, 7 grams total fat and 2 grams of saturated fat (considerably less than a standard New York slice at 600+ calories!).
Jennie-O Turkey Burgers
• Made from straight turkey meat and seasoning (with very little salt) – and you can grill or pan fry with non-stick cooking spray… straight from the freezer.
• 1 Turkey Burger is only 160 calories and 9 grams of fat (2 grams saturated fat). Significantly less than your typical beef burger!
• Stick turkey burger on a 100% whole grain hamburger bun… top with tomato and a dab of ketchup… and serve with crunchy baby carrots on the side for a perfect meal.
Barilla Plus Pasta
• Not whole grain pasta – but offers other healthful benefits. Semolina flour is blended with barley, lentils and chickpeas (bumping up the fiber), egg whites (increasing protein) and ground flaxseeds adding more nutrients, fiber and some ‘but not much” omega 3 fats.
Salad dressings
• Paul Newman’s Lighten Up: Balsamic Vinaigrette + Low-fat Sesame Ginger
• Wishbone – Salad Spritzers – Italian flavor
• Tasty, low-calorie dressing is often the perfect strategy for getting your kids to eat more veggies! The following brands are 50 calories or less per 2 Tablespoons… and have been widely accepted by kids.
• The Wishbone Spritzers (spray bottles) have the added appeal of fun.
FUN SNACKS/Desserts
Polly-O String Cheese (part skim)
• You can never go wrong with low-fat cheese – and the added work of pulling the stick cheese apart will keep your kids busy for a while.
• Whether it’s all white or a white/yellow combo, one stick typically provides 150 milligrams of calcium (that’s 1/2 the amount in an 8-ounce glass of milk).
Glenny’s Soy Crisps
• One small bag provides 140 calories. And thanks to the soy… 10 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber.
• They come in a variety of flavors, however, in my experience kids tend to like Apple Cinnamon best. Two other varieties - Lightly Salted and Cheddar Cheese seem to be second in line.
Skinny Cow Flying saucers
• A fabulous treat for kids (and adults) at only 140 calories and 1.5 grams of fat. Comes in a variety of flavors from chocolate to peanut butter to strawberry… and thanks to fortification, your kids get 3 grams of fiber.
Motts natural applesauce (peach or berry flavor)
• No added sugar or high fructose corn syrup… which means half the calories and sugar. Only 50 calorie per half cup serving for this version… compared to 100 calories per half cup for the traditional sweetened.
• Always look for “natural” “no added sugar” or unsweetened”.

His and Her Toilets
Apparently in our culture we would rather make sure our clothes don’t touch prior to having to share a toilet with the person we are suppose to be attracted to. I would choose to have his and her toilets long before his and her closets. You would always know when you’re out of toilet paper. Toilet seats wouldn't be left up. You wouldn't have to give the embarrassing warning or hear the dreaded warning of, "I wouldn't go in there for a while!" and you wouldn't have to smell the person you are suppose to love and be attracted to bowel movements.

Yummy Healthy Snacks
These are three of my favorite snacks. My kids love them and they are healthy. All of these items can be found at Cosco.
First we have Pluots, the best fruit I have EVER tasted. Super sweet and juicy. They are a cross between an apricot and plum. Everyone who tries them, loves them!
Second is Pirate's Booty. They taste to me like a cross between white cheddar cheeto's and popcorn. Kids love them and the name. They can be found at health food stores but are a much better deal at Cosco.
Third is edamame. My son LOVES eating these. He often eats these for lunch. It is a soybean with great nutrition. Sprinkle some salt on the edamame, peel apart the pods and eat the beans! You can buy them in the frozen isle.

Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies
I always am searching for the perfect cookie recipe. I hate it when I make a batch and they taste more like short bread cookies with chocolate chips. I love this recipe it does make 5 dozen so I usually freeze the dough so I don't have all this deliciousness staring at me all day. I just make a dozen at a time and make sure to give some to neighbors (it is how I have to practice portion control).
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1-cup butter softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4-cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
6 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375
Mix dry ingredients first then add the rest.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. I have found a tablespoon of dough makes the perfect sized cookie
Bake 9-11 min
Are you salivating a little?

Yummy Pumpkin Pancakes
If your kids are anthing like my kids it is a struggle to get them to eat their vegetables. I love this recipe because Taryn loves it and it has pumkin in it which counts as a vegetable. Oh and did I mention they are pretty easy.
2 cups pancake mix
3 Tablespoons Brown sugar
2 teaspoon pumkin spice
mix all of this into one bowl
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 egg
2 tablespoons vegtable oil 2 tablespoons vinegar
then just mix all the ingreediants together and your kids just at some vegtables in the morning and they don't even know it.
PS I usually cook these the night before and double the recipe. Then I just put the pancakes in the freezer so that way in the morning there is no cooking to be done. I just pop them into the microwave for about 30 seconds. They make great snacks too.

Fake Bake (In a healthy way)
I have to share this product my friend introduced me to. I am already seeing the sunspots from all my tanning during my teens and college... My mom always warned me I would regret it, and as she is with everything she was right. I didn't want to use self-tanners. Let's face it, you can always tell by the orange streaks or even worse... we can all smell it. There has been several times at church etc. when I have smelt it and then moments later can look around and find whom it is. I don't know what is more obvious the smell or the orange. Well, my friend who has a natural beauty and tan is an esthetician introduced me to this FABULOUS produce. Fake Bake I love it, my family loves it and anyone who has used it wants to keep using it. The best part is it doesn't smell. Down part... you have to be a beautician to obtain it other wise it will cost you around $30 on the Internet. People with their beauty license seem to be able to obtain it for around $13. I would say a can lasts me around 3 weeks. Let me know what you think or others products that you use.

Clean that POTTY
My sis-n-law told me this secret to a clean toilet which involves NO elbow grease. We moved into our house and the toilets were AWFUL! The house sat empty for 2 years so water and who knows what else... just sat there. I tried everything then, I was given this idea:
Pour a 1/2 cup of bleach in the back of the toilet and WAAAH-LAAAAAAAH (o-k it does take a day or so to do it's work)
YUP... Thats all and it works. I do it about once a week and it has kept my potty clean even in the process of potty training. WOOT WOOT!
Shrimp Tacos
I love to cook and I can't wait to share my first recipe!
Here is one of my favorite things that I created based on one of my favorite dishes, Ceviche.
Shrimp Tacos
Ingredients
1 bag of already cooked and peeled shrimp
2 Bell Pepper (your favorite kind) I like to use Yellow to have a variety of colors
5 Tomatoes
1/2 Purple Onion
2 Avocado
1 bundle pf cilantro
1 frozen orange Juice concentrate
l2 imes
2 tsp Seasoning Salt
Bag of Corn Tortillas
1/4 C. Vegetable Oil
optional - 2 plantains, with more vegetable oil for frying
1. Defrost the shimp under cold water
2. Dice all the fresh ingredients besides the limes
3. combine all ingredients diced and defrosted
4. Put orange juice in Pitcher and make with about a thrid the water you normally use to make orange juice
5. pour about 1/2 cup of orange juice (Possible more)
6. squeeze the lime juice in
7. Add seasoning salt
8. Heat up half of the vegetable oil in a small frying pan
9. When oil is hot, begin frying each tortilla until crispy but not too brown
10. fry one at a time flipping 2 to 3 times
11. I like to make around 4 per person. You will be surprised how quickly it goes.
12. I love fried plantains with my shrip tacos. Peel and slice the plantains. Fry in hot oil. flip and turn until crispy
13. These make the shrimp mixture tast really good just in a bowl with these on top, or just sprinkled on top of your tacos
- If you have any questions, I will respond to your comment.
Take Care! April
I promise this is extremly yummy and fresh tasting. The longest part of this meal is dicing the fresh foods. This is a great meal to prepare during your kids naps because all of the citrus juices keeps it fresh and almost better tasting while it is frozen in the fridge. Leavign the frying for the evening when your husband is home to help with the kids while you take 15 minutes to finish the meal!

Fancy Grilled Cheese
I love grilled cheese but sometimes I enjoy a little more to my sandwich. I had this the other day at a resturant and have been able to duplicate it several times. I think it was even better :)
What you will need:
Avocado
Sprouts
Tomato
Multi-Grain Bread
Butter
Colby cheese or other cheese of your choice
Butter up the bread and grill your sandwich with the cheese only. Slice up your avocado and tomato. Once your sandwich is finished peel it apart and put in the veggies. YUMMY!!!
Baby Talk, How to help your toddler talk early
I was talking to my sister the other day about my son being able to talk early. I would like to take all the credit but honestly I think it is his personality along with me working with him (he is very determind). Something I think helped a bit is starting around his first birthday when he wanted something I would have him say it. He would be frustrated at times but I really think it helped. An example would be if I had his sippy cup in my hand and he was grunting and pointing I would have him say the word "sippy". In the beginning it didn't sound ANYTHING like the word I was looking for but eventually he got it right. As long as he made the effort he would get what he was asking for. As he got older, around 18 months I started pointing out the color with EVERYTHING. "Here is your yellow candy!" for example. He knew all of his colors with in a few months. Also while we were coloring, driving etc I would always sing the ABC's. Even if I didn't think he was listening. Then one day while he was playing, right before his 2nd birthday, he blurted out the whole song. I thought he never listened but apparently he was. Maybe it was the little things I did along away, maybe it was him... We will see how it works with the second. The first kid is always a genie pig.
Feta Linguine
2 cans whole peeled tomatoes
1/2 c. onions (I used the minced dried onions) maybe a little more,
just make sure it's not overwhelming
1 cloves of Garlic mined (or blended into really tiny bits).
2 tbsp pepper (maybe start with just 1 tbsp and then go from there) or
just use it to your liking.
1 tsp. sea salt
1 c. chopped cilantro
1 box Linguine Fini noodles
Feta cheese (however much you want to use...maybe 1/2 c per person)
Blend just the tomatoes (not the juice) until smooth-ish with some
little chunks.
Put in sauce pan on medium heat.
Add all of the spices.
Cook for about 15 minutes until hot and everything is blended well.
Right before you're ready to serve it throw in the Cilantro and mix it
all up.
Cook noodles, put sea salt in the water (1-2 tsp) When straining be
sure to leave in 1/4 of an inch of water. Pepper up the noodles.
When serving get your noodles and then put the Feta in the noodles
before you put the sauce on. Then pour on the sauce.
ENJOY!!!!!

Hawaiian Haystacks
A family favorite. We grew up eating this yummy dinner and it works great for kids. Our Grandma Katie gave me some ideas to better the recipe.
You will need:
2 cans of Cream of Celery Soup
1 apple
1 onion
Serving of Rice for 6 People
2 chicken breast or half of a rotisserie chicken
Chose some of your favorite toppings if not all:
Sliced Pineapple
Mandarins
Coconut (desired amount)
Sun Flower seeds
Lo Mien Noodles
Avocado
Cheese
Cook your chicken breast however you please (no seasoning necessary). Also cook the rice. Slice up the onion and apple to small pieces, sauté in a bit of butter or oil (I don't always use an apple or onion they aren't necessary). Once soft add your Cream of Celery soup. Add your chicken in bite size pieces. I love using the rotisserie chicken and tearing up the other half and freezing it for the next time I make this recipe. Warm up the mixture. Once warm dish up. You would typically put rice down first then the chicken mix. You then sprinkle whatever toppings you please on top. SUPER EASY!

Brillant Lazy Mom Exercise
Maybe if I (Marcie) was as atheletic as Tara or as hard working as April this type of exercise wouldn't be necessary. But, I am not. I would rather start a new blog, play with my make-up, shop, or play with my kids. I was talking with a dear friend the other day and she gave me the idea to exercise while playing with my children! BRILLANT!!! I run out ot things during the day to keep my active two year old entertained and feel guilty for not being more active myself. All I need to do is play with my kids while having a fast heart rate for a half hour. I love it and it get's me moving. Here are some idea's I have thought of:
Race him on foot while he is on his bike up and down the street while pushing sweet Layla in a stroller
Play soccer. Kick the ball while running around Liam (he thinks it is so funny)
Use the kids swimming floating divice as a kick board while swimming laps and pushing them (may not last the whole time but it gets me moving)
Tag
Run around the house (from sharks, dinos, and dragons obviously)
Take Them to the park down the street which has a side walk around it. The park is maybe an 1/2 acre. Run around it while they play.
In the winter go sledding and pull them around in a sled
I am open to any new ideas!!!
